Texas State Employee Holidays 2025. (c) an optional holiday includes only the days on which rosh hashanah, yom kippur, or good friday falls. On optional holidays, a state employee is entitled to observe rosh hashanah, yom kippur, good friday, and cesar chavez day in lieu of any state holiday where a skeleton crew is required;

In accordance with chapter 662, texas government code, state employees will be entitled to observe 15 holidays during the fiscal year ending august 31, 2025. And on weekend holidays, offices will not be closed on another day.
